We’re half through the year at La Bella Bridal and we thought it was time to do something a little bit different. We often get asked from people visiting the shop, or phoning, or emailing just what are the most popular wedding dresses that women are currently buying. Our initial response is yes that’s an easy question. We decided however to check our facts and these are results of the 10 Most Popular Wedding Dresses in 2011 by La Bella Bridal…so far. It is important that you acknowledge that the wedding is your daughter’s and her groom’s. It is easy to get carried away trying to organise the ceremony the way you want it to be. Being diligent translates as you being interested in their plans and that you are easy to get along with. Once you establish this trend in the beginning, you will be requested for more advice and suggestions and looked up to as the mother of the bride.

While being part of the wedding planning team, get to know your daughter’s fiancé. Make sure he feels comfortable being around you as you get to know him better. This bond is vital not only for their happy wedding but also for their happy marriage. A daughter wants nothing more than her mother to accept her son-in-law. And the groom needs that assurance from the brides mother.

Find ways to bond with your in-laws; invite them for casual dinners, send them greetings on special occasions and include them in the wedding planning. This gesture means so much to the couple and to your in-laws. Let them feel welcomed to the family, and no one can do this better than the mother of the bride.
